FindVets ("FindVets," "we," "us") operates findvets.net, a directory that helps pet owners find veterinary clinics and, optionally, send an appointment request directly to a clinic. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect different information depending on how you use FindVets:
- Pet owner accounts: name, email, phone number, and password (or, if you use "Continue with Google," the name, email, and profile photo Google shares with us). If you add pets to your account, we store their name, species, and breed.
- Appointment requests: when you request an appointment through a clinic's listing, we collect and store what you submit — your name, email, phone, pet details, reason for visit, and preferred times — so it can be sent to that clinic and, once the clinic has claimed and verified their listing, shown in their FindVets dashboard.
- Clinic accounts: the same account details as a pet owner account, plus the practice information a clinic adds or edits — clinic name, address, phone, website, hours, services offered, pet types treated, contact email, booking page link, bio, and logo/ cover images.
- Usage on clinic listings: we log page views and whether a visitor expanded a clinic's hours or clicked to call, visit a website, get directions, or use a booking link — tied to the listing viewed, not to your identity. You don't need an account for this to happen, and we don't attach these events to a name or email.
Signing in with Google
If you choose "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us to create or sign you into a FindVets account. We don't receive your Google password, and we don't access anything else in your Google account (your contacts, files, calendar, etc.) or post anything on your behalf. You can review or revoke FindVets' access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and let you sign in.
- To deliver an appointment request to the clinic you sent it to, and let that clinic manage it.
- To let a clinic manage and update its own listing.
- To notify our support inbox of certain events — a new clinic listing, a clinic claim, or an appointment request — so we can keep the directory accurate and help if something goes wrong.
- To understand, in aggregate, which listings and features get used, so we can improve the site.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With the specific clinic you send an appointment request to — sharing what you submitted is the whole purpose of that feature.
- With service providers who help us run FindVets under agreements limiting their use of it: Supabase (our database, authentication, and file storage), Resend (delivering the emails FindVets sends), and Vercel (hosting the site).
- If required to comply with the law, or to protect FindVets, our users, or the public.
Cookies & tracking
FindVets uses only the cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in. We don't run third-party advertising trackers, and we don't currently use Google Analytics or similar tools — the listing engagement described above is logged directly by FindVets, not a third party.
Your choices
You can update most of your account and, if you're a clinic, listing details yourself from your FindVets dashboard at any time. To request a copy of your data, or to have your account and associated data permanently deleted, email us at support@findvets.net. Requests may be subject to conditions or limitations required by applicable law — we'll explain if we're unable to fulfill part of a request.
Children's privacy
FindVets isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including access controls that scope clinic and account data to the account it belongs to, and optional email-code two-factor authentication for clinic dashboards. No method of storing or transmitting information is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use FindVets after a change means you accept the updated policy.
